Also, there are not very many requests. At first there was a huge batch, and since it’s slowed to a trickle. That’s probably partly our fault for not updating the site and making it more obvious to you that we’re reading and praying about them.  It also may be that once people got some initial issues of their chest, they had nothing to add next week. To that end, on weeks when there are very few, I plan to pray for some of the older ones. After all, most deep issues are not solved in a week.

I’d also encourage you readers to keep in mind some of the old requests. In the mean time I’ll try to do a better job at posting some of the ones we recieve. Here’s all of the most recent batch. That’s right, all of them. That’s how few there are.

That I would learn to let go of my high expectations of myself, give myself some grace, trust God with the big and little things, let go of my frantic grasp for control in my life.

Fear.

My best friend’s grandpa had a stroke. He is going to rehab to get better.

Patience, understanding and commitment.

Physical health and healing of my soul.

Pray for my dad’s salvation. Also his job is on the rocks so transition for him and my family.  Also, that I could get my work done without it taking all dat so I have time for lessons.

My family and finding a job. Also classes: need to make the grade.

Again, each one (even the ones not listed here) is already being prayed for by somebody from K12 or one of our friends. These appear here so that you can also pray for some of them if you want to. So, here they are.

That I will turn to healthy ways of coping with pain and anxiety rather than destructive and harmful ways.

I need to come back to God. I feel so far away from him. I think it’s because I don’t pray as much as I need to. I’m not focused when I pray.

Muffitt

Insecurity, lonliness, mistakes, confusion, fear.

I have a friend that struggles with depression and lonliness, especially in the winter. He closes up and doesn’t share his problems with others because he feels like he’s weighing them down. Pray that he would open up to someone that can help him, and that, ultimately he’d trust God to get him through everything.

Stress from class.

Pray that things work out between my brother and his girlfriend.

Pray that God would teach me humility and discipline. Otherwise I’m not going to make it.

Tonight we put boxes on every floor in Gainey.

We put prayer boxes in Muffitt and Ormston about a week ago.  We collected the first batch today, which will be posted here (minus names) tomorrow. There were a fair number of request right off the bat. That tells me this shoebox thing should have happened a long time ago, and it should be carried on after we instigators have graduated.

Requests from Muffitt much outnumbered Ormston, of course. In my experience, guys have more trouble opening up and articulating their needs to others, whereas girls are usually just thrilled that someone cares, and promptly pour their hearts out.

Lowell still needs boxes. After that will come villages and apartments. That’s all for now.  Sorry for being boring. I might post something more clever and/or inspirational next time.
